| Dear Colleague, Since the launch of the Eyecare Navigation Service (ECNS), we have noticed that some referrals submitted through the GOS18 module relate to CUES episodes. We kindly remind practices delivering CUES, to ensure episodes are processed via the CUES module on OPERA, as shown below: |

Following a CUES episode, if a referral into secondary care is required, please refer via the CUES module by selecting the appropriate referral outcome at the end of the episode and clicking the red ‘refer’ tab in the referral management page. Please do not refer via the GOS18 eERS module shown below as this should only be used for referrals following a sight test: |

If referring from a CUES episode, please refer directly to the chosen provider or follow the local referral pathways & protocols if different for your area. Please do not refer patients into the ECNS as this pathway is for GOS18 referrals only. Please ensure any images, visual field plots or other relevant documents are attached and uploaded correctly for any referral. Please note that if the triage team receive a GOS18 referral, that should have been processed via the CUES module, the referral will be rejected and a member of the admin team will be in contact with the practice to ensure correct processes are being followed. If a patient requires a CUES assessment but your practice is unable to provide an appointment within a clinically suitable timeframe, please arrange for a suitable appointment within the system by ringing other CUES providers and/or using the CUES pinboard in Morecambe Bay, Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre, Preston, Chorley & South Ribble and West Lancashire. Please screen the patient using the CUES module and select “refer to another CUES practice” as the outcome; then click the red “refer to CUES” tab on the referral management page. Further information may be found in the CUES module guide using the following link: https://help.optom-referrals.org/article/721-cues-referral-guide Thank you for your continued hard work and support. If you have any questions, please contact hello@referral.support Kind regards, Primary Eyecare Services |
