Dear Colleague,
We would like to update you on the work that Primary Eyecare Services is undertaking in relation to accreditation and compliance.
This is to ensure that all practices and practitioners hold the necessary accreditations required for the delivery of enhanced NHS eye care services. Maintaining up to date accreditation records is a contractual obligation and a key part of our clinical governance framework and our reporting to commissioners helping to assure service quality, patient safety and equitable delivery standards across our network.
The majority of practices and practitioners who have updated their accreditations, however there are still a small number outstanding. Practices and practitioners that have not submitted the required documentation will receive a final notice requesting evidence of compliance by 05 January 2026. If this is not received, their access to our IT system, OPERA will be limited, and they will be unable to provide enhanced eye care services.
Support is available by emailing centraloperations@primaryeyecare.co.uk
Kind regards,
Primary Eyecare Services
