| We are writing to inform you of an upcoming change as part of the mobilisation of the Eye Care Navigation Service (ECNS) across Lancashire and South Cumbria. As the service goes live, you may notice a slight increase in patient activity within your practice. This is expected and reflects a key adjustment to referral pathways designed to support more streamlined patient access to care. What this means for your practice GOS18 and GP referrals will be directed more appropriately, ensuring patients are navigated to the right service first time. Patients will be contacted by the Eye Care Navigation Service hub to explain the process at which point the hub will also contact practices to facilitate timely booking and access. Practices will be responsible for contacting patients to arrange bookings, following referral or navigation into your service. As a result, you may see a slight uplift in patient referrals and enquiries. The approach is intended to: Improved patient experience and access Reduce unnecessary steps in the patient journey Support practices to deliver care more efficiently We will continue to monitor activity levels closely and provide updates as the service embeds. If you have any questions or require further support, please contact us via email at hello@referral.support with ‘L&SC Eye Care Navigation Service’ in the subject header. Thank you for your continued support in delivering high-quality urgent eye care services. Kind regards, Primary Eyecare Services |
