Update from SpaMedica:
SpaMedica are delighted to announce that our state-of-the-art eye hospital is NOW FULLY OPEN now fully open and accepting NHS referrals for our Ophthalmology Services from all NHS England ICB areas as part of patients choice of provider.
The hospital capacity will grow over the next month or two, to be able to see around 5,000 cataract patients per year, In addition to YAG capsulotomy patients.
We shall be holding open days and CET events in the new hospital regularly, with the opportunity for community practice teams to have a look around this exciting new, state of the art facility.
We shall be seeing patients 2-4 weeks from referral to Pre-assessment, with a further 2-4 weeks to surgery. In fact, we expect initially even shorter wait times in both Blackpool and Preston with the added capacity this now brings, and of course for many it will be even closer to where the patient lives.
SpaMedica is the largest provider of NHS cataract surgery in the UK and we are privileged to be able to support the thousands of patients that choose us as a provider.
