Badge-wearers who have received our specialised suicide prevention training, can offer information and support, even though they are not qualified to provide counseling. They are also a beacon to those who need to talk about suicide or are having thoughts of suicide. Their role primarily involves directing individuals to relevant services.
We hope your organisation is able to take up this offer to be there for people who may need to talk to someone as this does save lives. At the end of the course learners will receive a certificate and can apply for an Orange Button.
Suicide is one of the most common and preventable deaths, yet many people do not know how to support someone who is at risk of suicide. These suicide prevention courses aim to give learners the knowledge and skills needed to prevent deaths from suicide, in workplaces, their personal lives or community settings. We hope you will be able to take up this offer and help us to reduce suicides in Lancashire.
