CUES Module Refresh
April 2025
Dear Practices,
We are pleased to inform you that updates to the CUES II module will go live on the 7th of April 2025. These updates have been developed following a review of feedback that we actively collect from all users. The aim of the developments is to enhance the functionality and usability of the system. Key improvements include:
- Enhanced usability: Larger, more accessible selection boxes have been implemented to improve ease of use.
- Appointment type selection: Ability to select telemedicine or face-to-face appointment for patient from the outset.
- Optimised screening tool logic: The initial screening tool now maps to the appointment type required.
- Diagnosis catalogue: An optometry-specific diagnosis catalogue has been added, with conditions refined for ease of use and to support future research.
- Patient resources: Links to leaflets for common conditions can now be sent via email or text directly through Opera.
- Simplified prescribing services: Prescribing services are now tailored to local commissioning arrangements, with more user-friendly wording on patient printouts.
- GP action section: A new section flags when GP action is required, with details on the specific request for the patient’s GP. A tailored GP referral can now be sent alongside a hospital referral.
- Improved referral and outcome communications: Referral letters and outcome reports have been streamlined to clearly outline the required actions from receiving providers, with more concise messaging for hospitals and GPs. To reduce confusion, the full document bundle will no longer be sent. Any necessary referral information must now be added to a mandatory field.
Please use the CUES II icon, which is the last one along, the old CUES icon will still be visible but not functional.
