I always want to ensure you have a wealth of signposts available for staff so wanted to share these support lines-
Samaritans – 116 123 There is a misconception this is just for people who are feeling suicidal however they offer support for anyone who needs help…on their website it states “Get in Touch About Anything That’s Troubling You No Matter How Big or Small the Issue Is”
NHS Lancashire & South Cumbria wellbeing & mental health helpline Our Wellbeing Helpline is a listening service for the residents of Lancashire and South Cumbria. It is a Freephone out of hours, person-centred listening environment for people requiring emotional support in relation to their own wellbeing and mental health or that of someone they know. Contact the helpline on 0800 915 4640.
Usual opening hours are: Friday – 7pm to 11pm Saturday and Sunday – 4pm to 11pm
Urgent mental health support outside of these times can be sought via the Initial Response Service (IRS) 0800 953 0110 and NHS 111, selecting option two.
SHOUT You can also message Shout, which is a free, confidential and 24/7 texting service. Simply text ‘Shout’ to 85258. To start a conversation. Shout is a free, confidential and 24/7 text messaging service for anyone in the UK who needs support. If you are struggling to cope and need to talk, our trained Shout Volunteers are here for you.
Support for 11-25 year olds Further support is available through Kooth offering self-help resources, online messaging and support for young people aged 11 to 25.
