The interval for Diabetic Retinal Screening is increasing from 12 months to 2 years. The implementation will be staggered over the next 2 years, therefore half of eligible patients will be initially recalled in 12 months with the other half in 2 years. Eligible patients are those with no retinopathy on 2 consecutive occasions at least 12 months apart.
Merge of Diabetic Eye Screening Services
Liverpool and North Mersey Diabetic Eye Screening programmes merged on 1st October 2023.
The new number for Liverpool & North Mersey Diabetic Eye Screening Programme is 0151 529 3111, however the old phone numbers will be diverted to this number. Patients may benefit from a greater choice of venue options. Further information is included in the briefing document linked below.
