Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust
Quit Squad (Stop Smoking Service) – CONTRACT UPDATE
The Stop Smoking Service, ‘Quit Squad,’ which is commissioned by Lancashire County Council (LCC), was recently re-tendered and unfortunately Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCft) was not successful in securing the new contract.
The winning bid came from an organisation called Change Grow Live (CGL) which is a national social care and health charity. CGL offer stop smoking services in other areas of the country.
We are now working with LCC and CGL to support the transfer of the service out of the Trust and into the new provider.
The contract ceases at the end of September 2023 and transfers to CGL on 1st October 2023. We are working on a smooth, safe and effective transfer of all our clients that are currently active within the service on any part of their quit journey over to the care of CGL.
The online referral system (including URLs) into the current service will become inactive from 5pm on Friday 22nd September as CGL will have their own referral routes. These will be communicated with stakeholders and partners in the coming weeks by CGL. Please note that any referrals to Quit Squad after this date will not be processed.
In the meantime, we will continue with our commitments to our stakeholder colleagues, referrers, clients and partners, including ongoing promotions and delivery of the service.
Thank you for your continued support
