Poppy Berringer (a second year Speech and Language Therapy Student at Cardiff Metropolitan University) is looking to research ‘Optometrists Accounts on Accommodating Communication to People With Aphasia (PWA) : A Qualitative Study’.
She is interested in the implications this has on assessment during optometrist appointments and the knowledge of optometrist’s communication with someone with aphasia.
She is looking for expressions of interest only at the moment as she has not yet obtained permission to complete the study, and to informally ask if you would be interested in being part of a semi-structured interview for 45 minutes over Microsoft Teams to answer questions surrounding this topic.
Participants must have heard of aphasia before but not necessary have knowledge about it, live in the UK, be fluent in English and be a qualified optometrist.
The study is due to take place in September 2023.
